God is speaking about
Israel in the last days (Jacobs trouble). ..."It will come about in all the land," Declares the LORD, "That
two parts in it will be cut off and perish; But the third will be left in it. 9"And I will bring the third part through
the fire, Refine them as silver is refined, And test them as gold is tested. They will call on My name, And I will answer
them; I will say, 'They are My people,' And they will say, 'The LORD is my God.'" Zachariah 13:8-9
That the trial of
your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise
and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: Whom having not seen, ye love;
in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls. 1
